Identity Theft with Social Security Numbers

Identity Theft With Social Security Numbers

One of the most damaging types of identity theft is more common than you think. Do you make sure you don't have your social security card in your wallet or purse?

Do you shred every document you have with your social security number on it after you don't need it anymore? Not many people do.

I'm sure in my garbage right now are papers with my social on them. This number alone allows people to amass huge debts with your name on them.

This might sound like it would take a lot of work but just call a phone company and ask them what they need to open a new account. They need an address, social security number, name, and birthday.

All it takes is someone to call you up, confirm your social security number and say you won some type of prize. People get really excited and will offer all kinds of information.

Name and birthday are always just spit right out. Now, someone just ordered a modem, phone, cable, and every single accessory a phone company offers and you are the one responsible for the bill.

Sure, this can easily lead to an arrest but often, these thieves only rent a room somewhere until they get all this stuff and leave.

Depending on the motivation and intelligence of the identity thief, they can create complete identities to get illegal immigrants across the border, rent homes, get utilities, and even get legal employment all pretending to be you.

It could take months or even years to realize there is someone out there screwing with your life. The end result could be devastating. Imagine the IRS thinking you have 3 homes even if they are rentals and nowhere near the income to pay for them.

The IRS would take a very close interest in your life and nobody likes that.

How to Maximize Profits on a House Flip

How to Maximize Profits on a House Flip

When it comes to real estate investing a house flip is a great way to go. It's also a rather bold move for many who are considering this as a first time real estate investment. At the same time you can minimize the risk while maximizing the profit potential by following a few guidelines.

1. Have an inspection. For whatever reason there are many people who enter into a property flip situation without ever having a valid and complete inspection of the property made. This means you could be doing work that will need to be undone at some later point in the process. You want to avoid this situation if at all possible and it is easily done (in most cases. by having a thorough inspection. There will almost always however be some unanticipated surprises along the way.

2. Establish a budget and stick with it. Most people flipping houses plan a budget. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, very few actually stick to the budget they originally established. It is a good idea to leave a little wiggle room in your budget for unexpected emergencies but be firm on the spending limits for specific projects. If you go over on those projects eliminate something elsewhere in order to save money.

3. Consider the target buyer when making adjustments. You must understand when purchasing a house to flip that you are buying the house for someone else and you need to make adjustments, changes, and improvements according to what your target market demands, expects, and can afford to absorb the costs of you adding. It doesn't matter how beautiful you've made the house if no one that is willing to live in the neighborhood can afford your asking price when all is said and done.

4. Remember that this is a business situation and don't refuse to consider offers that will net you a profit just because the profit isn't as good as you'd like. A house sitting empty on the market accrues carrying costs and is ripe for all manner of disasters. You want to get in and out as quickly as possible so that you can free up your investment to move on to the next project. Entertain all offers seriously even if they aren't what you were hoping for. You never know when one might be the best you're going to get.

5. Don't take it personally. Once again a home is a very personal thing to most people. While you may have worked very hard selecting colors, materials, flooring, etc. not everyone is going to share your tastes. Do not alienate potential buyers by attaching personal emotions into the mix and getting angry because they do not appreciate your hard work. I hate to add this but it happens a lot more than you might think when flipping houses.

6. Spend as little money as possible while making bold changes. This is the best way to maximize your profits. You want the changes to be visible and effective. Don't overlook the value of curb appeal you need to put serious effort into improving the exterior of the home as well as the interior because this is what people will see first and the change that will invite them to take a look at what you've done inside.

Little changes make a big improvement in the value (especially the perceived value. of a home. Make the necessary changes and sell the house as quickly as possible in order to bring in the best possible profits.

Eating Healthy for Vegetarians

Eating Healthy For Vegetarians

The vegetarian way of eating can be a very healthy style
of eating. The rules still apply with healthy eating,
although you should add variety, balance, and moderation.

A vegetarian is someone who avoids all types of meat,
whether it be hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, or even fish.
Vegetarians are also sometimes classified by the type of
food they are or aren't willing to eat. For example,
Lacto-ovo vegetarians will avoid animal flesh yet they
will eat eggs and most dairy products. A Vegan on the
other hand, will avoid all food that has any trace of
animal origin.

Because they don't eat meet, vegetarians will often
wonder how they'll get enough protein. Although you may
not realize it, the average American actually consumes
more protein than he actually needs. For the lacto-ovo
vegetarian, dairy products are an excellent source of
protein. Vegans on the other hand, get their protein
from nuts, seeds, and soy products.

Along the lines of beans, there are several to choose
from, including green or red lentils, peanuts, split
peas, pinto, soy, kidney, and many more. Some of them
you are already familiar, such as kidney beans in
chili, refried beans in Mexican dishes, red beans and
rice, and pinto beans. Although some beans taste good
as they are, others are available with different flavors
to help enhance their taste.

Nuts are hihg in protein, although they deliver a lot
more fat than beans, which means you should enjoy them
in moderation. By having one cup of cooked beans,
you'll get the same amount of protein as eating two
ounces of meat.

The nutrients of concern for vegans, who avoid all types
of animal food, are vitamin B12, calcium, and vitamin D.
In the average North American diet, the primary source
for B12 is animals. To have an adequate intake of B12,
vegans should reguarly consume vitamin B12 supplements or
foods, which contain vitamin B12, such as soy products
or milk.

For calcium, vegans can rely on orange juice or soy
milk, as they are fortified with calcium. Beans and
leafy green vegetables will also contain some calcium as
well.

Although all types of vegetarians rely on simple food
groups, controlling your vitamins and calcium intake is
something you should always do. This is very important
for eating healthy, as well as staying healthy. If you
control what you eat, you'll have many years of healthy
eating ahead of you.

Keep It Simple to Get Traffic To Your Site!

Keep It Simple To Get Traffic To Your Site!

Traffic to your website is critical if you want to succeed on the internet. There are several way you can generate traffic, however, most online individuals don't know how to get the traffic coming to visit you business opportunity.

There are three basic step that will help you get recognized on the web and get traffic to your site.

  1. Write from the heart about your product or service. Don't make your article a sales page, write the article as if you are telling me a friend about your business over dinner knowing full well that I am not going to buy.
  2. People who are searching on line for anything whether a product or service, avoid pursuing a hyped, full of BS website. The search engines frown on word stuffing about your offering. Just rememer, "you can fool some of the people part of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all the time". Just say it like it is.....write just like you talk....Individuals are smart and can pick up on your sincerity or insincerity.
  3. Keep your article to less than 500 words if at all possible. At the end of your article make sure you give your reading audience contact information so they can get hold of you for any questions or just maybe an order. Isn't that what it's all about?

Saving Energy for Home-Based Folks

Saving Energy For Home-Based Folks

Working from home brings a lot benefits. It saves you from commute and dressing up everyday, it gives you tine for that extra minutes of sleep and it lets you work from your most convenient hours. But working from home it may also increase your energy bills - unless you carefully choose your office equipment and do some energy saving measures.

Buy energy efficient office equipment – computers, fax machines, scanners, printers, monitors and multifunction devices (scanner, copier, fax). Some ENERGY STAR office equipment can save as much as 90% of the standard energy consumption.

Most ENERGY STAR office equipments consume 50% less energy than standard ones. Aside from energy saving advantage, some office equipments reduce electromagnetic field emissions (for monitors), air-conditioning loads, and noise from transformers and fans.

An ENERGY STAR computer is 70% more energy efficient than computers without this designation. When left inactive, this computer shifts into a low-power mode, which only uses 15 watts of power or less.

Some office equipments that do not have to be turned on all the time should be shut down and unplugged because they still draw power when turned off.

Unplugging unused electronic devices is not limited to office equipments; unplug your television, VCRs, stereos, microwave oven, electric stove and other appliances when not in use.

Do not leave other appliances turned on while working. Avoid leaving unused appliances on "standby" mode.

Turn off the computer monitor if you are going for a break. Manually turn off your computer if you are leaving for an hour or more. Avoid using screensavers because they consume the same amount of energy as with normal computer use. Activating the computer's sleep mode is also a better way to save energy.

Do not believe that office equipment should always be turned on because it will last longer. Practicing this belief may only result to higher electric bill.

On your next upgrade, consider buying a laptop as a computer replacement as they consume less energy than desktop computers.

When the battery chargers are not in use or if the batteries are fully charged, unplug the charger immediately.

Set up your home office where you can utilize the natural light to minimize the use of lamps and room lights.

If you are working at night, prefer task lights that consume less energy instead of using room lights. Close the drapes and shades of the windows to keep cold air out and save energy on heating the room.

If you are alone in the house, make sure that you lock all the doors and windows before working.

Set the thermostat of your cooling or heating system to a comfortable level. A digital thermostat can provide better electricity savings. Work where you can reduce the use of heating or cooling system and lights. Prefer a small room as an office rather than the entire living area. Always maintain your air conditioning system clean.

Make energy saving improvements to your home. Home energy saving improvements like insulation, repairing of crack and holes (on the windows, walls, ceiling, floors, attic and basement) and switching to compact fluorescent bulbs can bring down your electric bills.

Not only that, if you are planning to sell your home, making your home energy efficient is a good strategy.
