Most of us have been through the process of searching the web for that outstanding program that will make us millions of dollars. They are interested in one thing....and that is good keywords, and relevant content about your product or services being offered. By adding good content on a daily basis, search engine like Google will push your site to higher and higher positions. I reviewed a survey the other day, stating that 78% or more of the people who are doing a search for a product or service will Google the topic, business or individual that they are researching. Most people won't go past page 2 of Google to research their interest. If you're not positioned on page 1 or 2 of the search engines…you may never be found on the internet. Very fine Pinot Noirs are currently available for your wine gift choices. Many of these are produced in the United States where the climate has helped it become a major producer of Pinot Noir grapes. The most prestigious of the American Pinot Noirs come from California and Oregon whose climates are uniquely suited to this varietal.

Working together: identity theft laws and the people

 

You might have felt pity when you heard the accounts of identity theft victims. If you were in the same situation one in your life, you would know how it feels like being in their shoes. That is why identity theft laws have been made and passed to stop this ongoing threat to people, companies and the whole country for that matter.

 

The awareness on identity theft among consumers has reached its peak in the past years. This is principally due to the media coverage it is getting. Because of this, consumers are becoming more wary when disclosing personal information and having it given out without their consent, especially on the Internet.

 

These outcries by members of the public have resulted in some legislative attention brought to the issue, both on the federal level and in the states.

 

The Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act (18 USC 1028) was signed in 1998. This law made identity theft a federal felony. That is, when someone deliberately uses the identification of another person with the purpose of committin any unlawful activity under federal and state law.

 

For those who have violated this law, they will be put under close investigation by federal agencies such as the U.S. Secret Service, the Social Security Administration, the FBI, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Such crimes are prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice.

 

This law also allows for reimbursement for victims. It established an identity theft clearinghouse within the Federal Trade Commission.

 

In the following years, 40 states have criminalized identity theft. Most of them have also made it a felony.

In 2000, Senate Bill 2328 was signed by Senators Feinstein, Kyl, and Grassley. This bill is called the "Identity Theft Prevention Act of 2000." This law emphasizes more on the prevention that should be taken or where they should belong.

 

The latest addition to these laws is the Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act (ITPEA) signed by President George Bush.

 

What are the provisions of this identity theft law?

 

The theft found to have made done a felony through the identity theft is given a mandatory two-year prison sentence.

 

If the identity theft is directly related to any terrorist activity, the penalty is an additional five-year prison sentence.

This law also orders the U.S. Sentencing Commission to strengthen the penalties to be given if the theft is found to be in the course of employment when the act is committed.

 

Lastly, it gives the more lax judges to give out soft punishments like probation and community for the offenders.

A lot of people are more than happy that this crime has been criminalized by the laws created. But it can be noted that in order to put a hold on identity theft, drastic changes have to made in the credit industry.

 

But it is also important that these laws address what the identity theft victims have gone through. There should be a way for them to know that they have a wrongful criminal record.

 

Some of the bills that have been passed include a provision making it possible for individuals to get hold of the content of information about them that is compiled by an information broker, employment background check service, or individual reference service.

 

If wrongful information is reported in any background check for employment or other purposes, it is vital that the persons on these investigations know the precise information that has been made and the source from which those information came from.

 

For those persons who have wrongful criminal records, they must be able to clear their records through an expedited process involving the law enforcement agency that made the arrest, the court system where the warrant was issued, and the official criminal Presently, there is no such procedure available for victims of criminal records identity theft.

 

Identity theft laws should not be the only answer to this ongoing problem. It is also vital that credit card companies and reporting industries should make an effort to assist consumers in stopping fraud altogether. They should also be the ones that should help victims recover from identity theft.

 

No matter how many identity theft laws are created and passed, this crime will still continue if additional efforts are not added. It is important that the people and the government should work together to stop identity thieves in their tracks.

Solar Energy- Why Is It Not Yet Widely Used

The fact is, the 350,000,000 terawatts of power available from the sun is so huge that an exposure to a full sun in only 15 minutes will be enough to generate the world's energy requirement

Compare that with energy that is generated by nuclear and fossil fuel. Presently, the available data for fossil and nuclear fuel is 10,800,000 terawatts which we all know to be non renewable.

To produce electricity, utility companies burn fossil fuels that translate to 1.3 pounds of carbon dioxide to produce 1kw of electrical power. This unwanted CO2 emissions are dumped into the atmosphere. This then translates into each typical home being accountable yearly for 22,000 pounds of CO2 emissions.

The harnessing of the sun's rays is clean and safe. It produces no emissions and it is practical and may in the years ahead, prove very economical. In the United States, only 0.1% of power that is generated is solar energy driven. So what are the obstacles?

According to the Wall Street Journal (in an article that was released in its August 2008 issue), there are groups, backed by political groups that are lobbying against the putting up of transmission lines for solar power. The construction of distribution lines for solar energy is also being blocked by environmental activists that restrict the delivering of solar energy to those who want it in their homes.

Another obstacle is that the power grid in the United States which was designed more than 100 years ago is now so congested in many regions. To deliver the solar power to consumers, scientists and engineers will have to come out with another cost efficient plan to transfer huge amounts of energy from one location to another.

Solar panels are considered expensive. Although a home increases its value by folds when solar powered, the costs still could be prohibitive to most that unless the non silicon flexible solar panels that are now being developed are released for market consumption, powering homes through solar energy could still be very limited.

Other forms of rewards to avoid fossil fuel use should still be effectively placed. The 30% tax cut to projected cost previously awarded will be more attractive if other federal credits are included to encourage further investments.

The global warming issue that has been brought to the papers is a recurrent subject of talk shows and remains to be a good news item. Also, the too unstable pump prices, should and for most part, already be a good incentive to use this alternative source of energy.

However, effective solar energy transmission to homes will remain to be very hard unless these obstacles are breached. Assuming that these obstacles are solved today, it will still take some 10 years to convert 20% of American homes into solar energy users. Meanwhile, solar panels on individual homes remain to be the most viable alternative.

The good part to solar energy quest is that technology is advancing very rapidly. Nano technology for solar power is being developed and may be available in five years time. Other breakthroughs in cell designs are also being developed that could, in the next few years, be a cost-effective way of generating energy without having to rely anymore on fossil and nuclear power.

Funding Your Flip

Real estate investments are quite expensive. Not only do you need the money to purchase the property you will be flipping but you will also need money for the improvements, repairs, and renovations that need to be made along the way. Unfortunately, the real estate business is a tricky business and there aren't very many traditional lenders that are willing to go full out in support of your real estate investment business venture.

This means you are going to have to either fund a good portion of the expenses yourself or you are going to have to find some other means of financing your house flip. First things first, the less you pay in interest the more money you bring home. You do not want to max out your credit cards in search of profits from a house flip if it can be avoided. Merchant accounts aren't much better but they can help you keep better track of exactly how much money you are spending on the flip and some will even give you 90 days same as cash (this is great if you can complete the process within 90 days).

It should be said that these aren't methods that are endorsed by the writer but they are definitely possibilities when it comes to funding your house flip. The best-case scenario is that you would have the money to play with and assume no real risk in the house flipping process but very few people trying to get started in real estate investing have that luxury.

That being said, one way that is extremely risky (especially if you are nearing retirement age) is to cash out your retirement funds. This is not attractive for many reasons not the least of which are the facts that there are hefty penalties for doing this and you are risking your retirement security. It is an option however if you are in a bind for your flip. If your flip is successful it's water under the bridge, the money can be returned or reinvested and the profit from your flip can then help fund subsequent flips or other types of real estate investments.

If you discuss things carefully with your family and decide that you are all willing to take the risk you can also risk your home by taking out a second mortgage for the funds. Again this is not the preferred method because the assumed risk is great for the security of your family. It is very important that everyone involved be aware that flipping houses is a risky investment. Not only is it risky because you aren't experienced but the real estate market is fickle. Your house could sit for several months requiring costly carrying costs before it sells.

Forming a partnership is another way to share the risks and help lighten the burden when it comes to flipping houses. Keep in mind that this is a stressful business venture and should be treated as a business venture. For this reason a volatile or fledgling friendship may not be the best risk for a venture such as this. If you do choose a partnership you need to carefully discuss the type of financial and labor investment that is expected of each partner and the share of profit that each partner expects to receive as well.

You should also consider carefully whether you are willing to risk the friendship for the sake of profits or would you rather go with a partnership that isn't a close friend (most real estate investment groups have people willing to help with the financial side and assume the risk for the lion's share of the profits).

Banks will typically fund a portion of the property costs if you can come up with an adequate down payment and show them a well thought out business plan. Do not rely on banks however if you have poor credit, lack a business plan, or do not have a sizable chunk of your own money to invest in the venture.

2. Olive oil offers a very distinct flavor with plenty of heart healthy ingedients. The oil is rich in monounsaturated fat, helps to lower cholesterol levels and reduce risk of cancer. It's also rich in antioxidants and has a very long storage life.

Even though it can be used in cooking, it's the healthiest when uncooked, such as with a salad or dipping sauce. When you use it with cooking, you should heat it on low to medium temperatures, making sure to avoid high heat.

3. Butter is one food that has been around for many, many years. Butter tastes good, and offers sourcesof Vitamin A and other fat soluble vitamins such as E, K, and even D. Butter is also made from natural ingredients and not chemically or artificially processed.

You can use butter with cooking, baking, or even as a spread. You can also pair it with creamy sauces, marinades, baked dishes, or even bread.

4. Margarine was first introduced as an alternative to high fat butter. When it was first created however, it was loaded with trans fat, a substance that we now know raises bad cholesterol.

As a cooking oil, margarine tastes good, it's lower in fat than most oils and butter, and it's quite easy to spread. It's available in a variety of different products and a good source of vitamin E.

When it comes to cooking with oils, there are several at your disposal. There are many more than what is mentioned here, although the ones above are the most popular. Eating healthy involves cooking healthy food - which is where your cooking oil really takes center stage.

Vintage wines are made with the utmost care as wine makers know that they will be judged by the quality of their vintage.
